about

In 1996, Kevorkian Death Cycle released their incisive Collection for Injection album, a selective anthology of their works from 1992 onward, on Ras Dva Records. This time period was a particularly experimental and exploratory one for the band. Collection for Injection was also a fan favorite throughout the years, particularly due to songs like “Veal” and “Send me the Machine”, and helped to broaden the listener base due to its chaotic, thrashing beats, and the bleak, dystopian lyrical content.

Throughout the pandemic, Ryan Gribbin and Roger Jarvis, the co-founding members and longtime base duo of Kevorkian Death Cycle, have joined with other significant collaborators from the band’s history to revisit selected aspects of this work in a modern form, while still retaining the raucous perversity of that original recording. Rob Robinson of the Order of the Static Temple, and Sean Whitman of A Brilliant Massacre, also both artists on the Negative Gain roster, have brought their extensive composition and production knowledge to the project, twisting and revising particular songs from Collection to bring them into the contemporary consciousness.

The themes of Collection for Injection are as perilously relevant as ever 30 years later, and this collaboration has come about during a time of destructive uncertainty and mass despondency. The first EP of this limited series, Collection: Injection 01, includes four modern machinations by Ryan Gribbin, Roger Jarvis, Rob Robinson, and Sean Whitman.
